Q: How many users can be enabled per number of SMS?
A: Rule of thumb: One user per number. A queue would be needed for more than one user on a single number.
Q: Any limitations for a Queue-based SMS Number?
A: Yes! Individual users in a queue can not initiate a text, they simply reply to texts received in the queue. Further once a text is claimed by an agent it can not be transferred to a different agent. Once an individual ends the chat/SMS chain with the agent, the SMS thread is then closed.
Q: Any limitations for a Single User-based SMS number?
A: Single users can text out and receive SMS messages at will. The limitations of Queue-based numbers do not apply.
Q: Can we provision a number for multiple users?
A: No, a queue would be needed, and be subject to the limitations above.
Q: Can you port a US Local Number to SMS?
A: Yes.
Q: Can you port a Toll-Free Number to SMS?
A: No.
