1. Onboarding: Creating a Domain

This is the first article in the Onboarding series. Learn how to create domains. 

Creating a Domain

Let's now go over the steps required to create a Domain in the client portal.

  1. First log into the client portal, then click on the Domains tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Click on the Add Domain button at the top right of the screen.
  3. Fill out the following fields in the Basic tab:
    Name: The name of the Domain. Can be the actual domain of the customer but can also just be a word. (the .com is not necessary)
    Description: The name of the Account (Customer).
  4. Click on the blue Next button and fill out the following fields in the Defaults tab:
    • Language: Choose the default language for the account. If your customers want a bilingual configuration, pick the one they prefer or the one that will affect most users.
    • Timezone: Choose the timezone in which the customer operates.  If the customer has offices in different time zones, pick the timezone which contains most extensions.
    • Area Code: The area code of the main number for the customer.  If the customer has different numbers in different area codes, chose the one which contains the most extensions.
    • Caller name:  The name of the Account (Customer), unless specified otherwise by the customer.
    • Caller ID: The main number for the customer.  If the customer has different numbers in different area codes choose the one which contains themost extensions.  You must enter a number that we service (assigned by us, that a customer is porting.) The other fields may keep their default values.
  5. Click on the blue Next button to go to the Limitationstab and leave everything to unlimited.
  6. Click on the blue Add button to create your new Domain.
